Thomas Ricard receives the insigna of the Most Excellent Order of the British Empire (MBE)

We are extremely proud of our partner, Thomas Ricard, who has been honored by the British Crown, receiving the insignia of the Most Excellent Order of the British Empire (MBE).

It is in recognition of his services to British nationals living in France, and notably for his exceptional commitment during the “13 November” trial, that Thomas RICARD is the first French lawyer to be awarded the badge of the Order.

Congratulations, Thomas, on this well-deserved honor.

Congress of the European Section of the AIDV-IWLA – 28 March 2025

Nathalie Tourrette and Matthieu Chirez attended the Congress of the European Section of the AIDV-IWLA, which took place in Bordeaux on March 28, 2025. They had the honor and pleasure of presenting the summary of all the work carried out during the Congress, which focused on the theme: “The Legal Identity of Wine.”

Conference “Arbitration and Mediation in Industrial Property” – April 10, 2025

As part of Paris Arbitration Week, AFPPI, AIPPI, the Licensing Executive Society France, ICC France, PMPI, APRAM, and APEB, in partnership with the Paris Judicial Court, are organizing a conference on the topic “Arbitration and Mediation in Industrial Property” on April 10, 2025, from 8:30 to 10:30 AM at the Paris Judicial Court of Paris. Martine Karsenty-Ricard, who is also an Arbitrator, will be speaking at this event.

The morning will feature two round tables.

The first round table, titled “Arbitration and Mediation Today”, will be moderated by Guillaume de la Bigne, Intellectual Property Attorney, and will bring together:

Jean-Christophe Galloux, Professor at University Paris II – Assas will conclude the Conference.

This conference takes place at a pivotal moment, with the launch of the PMAC and the release of the report on the reform of French arbitration law.

UIA Conference in Turin – 14-15 March 2025

Martine Karsenty-Ricard was a speaker during a seminar organized by the UIA (International Association of Lawyers) on the legal implications for marketing and advertising agreements notably in food and beverages sector.

More specifically, she dealt with content production agreement, media buying agreement and advertising agency agreement, drawing attention to the main clauses of these contracts, with examples drawn from case law.

UIA – Paris Congress 2024 – 2 November 2024

Martine Karsenty-Ricard was a speaker during the Annual Congress of the UIA (International Association of Lawyers) as part of a panel moderated by Massimo Sterpi and Marita Dargalo, lawyers based in Milan and Barcelona respectively, on the topic: How new technologies are reshaping the activities and business models of museums and cultural institutions.

More specifically, her presentation focused on the challengesof artificial intelligence in the area of artworks and the growing role of digital art in museums.

After having given some representative examples of the implication of big museums in the presentation of digital artworks, she went in particular into issues related to copyright protection for works created by artificial intelligence.

Clémence Colin appointed Vice-President of the Labour Law Commission of AIJA

We are thrilled to announce that Clémence COLIN has been appointed Vice-President of the Labour Law Commission of AIJA (International Association of Young Lawyers).

This appointment reflects not only her expertise but also her commitment in the field of labour law.

Clémence Colin and Thomas Ricard were speakers at the 67th Annual Congress of UIA, held between October 25th and 29th 2023 in Rome.

  • Clémence Colin took part in the “Labor Law” commission on the topic of whistleblower protection in labor law, in the context of the European Union Whistleblowing Directive and the Sapin 2 and Waserman laws in France, alongside Christoph Scheubel, Nathalie Subilia, Luca Demurtas, Bénédicte Querenet-Hahn, and moderated by Ulrich Baumann.
  • Thomas Ricard took part in the “food industry” commission on the theme of food labeling and safety, alongside Wei Song and Carlos Ramirez.

JP Karsenty & Associés was present at the 36th Congress of the French Association of Rural Law (A.F.D.R.) which took place on October 15th and 16th, 2021 in Dijon. On this occasion, Nathalie TOURRETTE took part in the round table discussion on land ownership by agricultural cooperatives and discussed the case of the Cooperative Society of Collective Interest (SCIC).

Conference on October 8, 2021 – Conséquences de la transposition en Europe de la Directive “Paquet Marques”

The French Committee of the International Chamber of Commerce, the Association of Industrial Property Attorneys (A.A.P.I.) and the Institute for Research in Intellectual Property (IRPI), are co-organizing a conference that will take place on October 8, 2021 from 9:30 am to 1:30 pm at the Maison du Barreau.

This event will be held “in person”, which will allow us to find a little conviviality!

It will address very current and concrete issues on the consequences of the transposition in France of the 2015 “Trademark Package” Directive, which has profoundly modified Trademark Law, with a panel of magistrates, lawyers, industrial property attorneys and representatives of the INPI.
